Kid Loco (Jean-Yves Prieur) arbeitete in den 1980er Jahren mit der französischen Alternativ-Rock-Szene zusammen, bevor er 1996 Blues Project veröffentlichte. 1998 veröffentlichte er das Album A Grand Love Story, das sich vor allem durch den erotischen Hauch von anderen Trip-Hop-Alben absetzte und heute ein Referenzalbum darstellt. Einem größeren Publikum wurde Kid Loco durch seinen DJ-Kick Sampler auf K7 bekannt, der zu den Besten dieser Reihe zählt. Die Welt ist bunt, ein Teil dieser Welt ist Kid Loco.
